Instagram Launches ‘Superzoom’ For Video. According to an article in Forbes by Paul Armstrong, ‘Get ready for your close-up because Instagram is about to launch another way to thrill your followers called ‘Superzooming’. Superzoom adds a creative twist to any video, letting people easily zoom in on one object with dramatic music for added effect. Just select Superzoom in the camera, tap and hold to record, or tap once to record a 3-second Superzoom. ‘Superzoom’ is the latest feature upgrade from Instagram after recently launching two-party live streaming via the mobile app. Instagram continues to see solid growth against competitor Snapchat, easier to do when you have a two-billion strong network to mobilise. Despite the rebound in Snapchat’s stock price since its last earnings report, Snapchat’s app popularity has been declining (see below). In fact, Instagram has overtaken Snapchat as the #1 Photo & Video App in the US for the first time according to ValuePenguin’s October 2017 report. For the first time since 2016, Snapchat lost spot as the top photo & video app in the US & the UK to Instagram and Snapchat’s average download ranking during Q3 of 2017 was its lowest level since ValuePenguin started tracking this data. ValuePenguin is predicting SNAP will likely report its worst user growth rate ever in Q3. All eyes will be on Snapchat at its Q3 earnings on November 7th. Remember, social media marketing isn’t always the tech. It’s the people.

Today, traditional TV still accounts for the lion’s share of video viewing, but online and mobile are where the growth is. When managed together, TV/digital/mobile hold the potential to drive real impact for advertisers—enabling them to maximize the customers they reach and/or reinforce key messaging across screens. After all, ‘It’s all about screens’.

Quote Of The Day

‘Long confined to the homes and workshops of its scientific guardians, television has just been graduated from this protective environment, and has been thrust out to make its way in the world. What will it offer to mankind, and what response will mankind make of it?’
