CBS swept every hour of prime time on Wednesday to take yet another night of the May Sweeps. At 8P, ‘Survivor’ pulled a 9.88 million viewers and a 6.1/10. At 9P, ‘Criminal Minds’ in its season finale, drew the top rating of the night with 11.96 million viewers and a 7.6/12. At 10P, ‘CSI’, with a rerun, still drew the top program audience, with 7.98 million viewers and a 5.3/9. Each program in the lineup was #1 in their time slot. It was another great night for The Tiffany Network.
ABC finished #3 as at 8P, ‘The Middle’ pulled in 6.85 million viewers and a 5.0/8. At 830P, ‘Suburgatory’ in their series finale, left the stage with 5 million viewers and a 3.7/6. At 9P, ‘Modern Family’, the star of Wednesday night programming on the Alphabet Network drew 8.79 million and a 6.5/10, good for #2 in its time period. But at 930P, ‘Mixology’ dropped the hammer on the network and made it Alphabet Soup with only 3.92 million viewers and a 2.8/4, the lowest of the evening. At 10P, ‘Nashville’ in its season finale, drew 5.02 million viewers and a 3.6/6.
NBC on Wednesday was humbled with a fourth place finish. At 8:P, ‘Revolution’ drew only 4 million viewers and a 2.8/5 while at 9P, ‘Law & Order: SVU’ pulled in 5.29 million and a 3.7/6. At 10P, pulling the Peacock Network up to their top viewership on Wednesday, ‘Chicago PD’ pulled in 6.06 million viewers and a 4.0/7, good for #2 in the time slot.
CW at 8P presented ‘Arrow’ in its season finale and it drew 2.33 million viewers and a 1.9/5. At 9P, the Little Network That Could had ‘The 100’ and it drew 1.77 million viewers and a 1.3/2.
‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ led with 2.9/7; CBS’s ‘Late Show with David Letterman’ had 2.6/7; and ABC’s ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ finished third with 1.8/5. At 1235P, ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’ finished #1 with a 1.4/5 beating CBS’s ‘Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson’ (1.2/4) and ABC’s ‘Nightline’ which averaged a 1.3/4. At 135A, NBC’s ‘Last Call with Carson Daly’ averaged a 0.8/4.

CBS was #1 with 9.941 million viewers and a 6.2 rating and a 10 share of the available audience. FOX was #2 with 8.765 and a 5.4/9. ABC finished with 5.766 million viewers and a 3.7/6. NBC was #4 with 5.116 million viewers and a 3.4/6. Univision had 2.741 million viewers and a 1.4/2 on Wednesday evening in prime time. The CW had 2.048 million viewers and a 1.4/2. Telemundo finished with 0.6/1.

Across The Pond
BBC One had the top program of the evening at 9P with ‘MasterChef’ pulling in 5.1 million viewers (23.2%). Earlier, ‘Watchdog’ drew 4.1 million viewers (20.3%). While at 1035P, ‘A Question of Sport’ brought in 2.2 million viewers (19.6%).
BBC Two at 730P presented ‘Great British Menu’ and was seen by 1.4 million viewers (7.2%). It was followed at 8P by ‘Under Offer’ with 1.3 million (6.7%). At 915P, ‘Coast Australia’ returned with 1.7 million viewers (7.8%). At 10P, ‘Episodes’ third year premiered with 944,000 fans (5.3%).
ITV at 8P, ‘Big Star’s Little Star’ drew 3.3 million (16.6%). It was followed at 9P by the final part of Billy Connolly’s ‘Big Send Off’ with 2.0 million (9.9%).
Channel 4 at 8P had ‘Supervet’ pulling in 1.3 million (6.5%). At 9P, ’24 Hours in A&E’ drew 1.6 million (7.2%). At 10P, ‘Derek’ had 658,000 viewers (3.8%).
Seven, with 30.8% share of the available audience scored a victory on Wednesday evening. Led by the nation’s leading newscast, the #1 program was ‘Seven News’ with 1,194,000 viewers. It also had #4, ‘Seven News/Today Tonight’ with 1,122,000 viewers. #5 was ‘House Rules’ with 1,072,000 viewers. And, Seven had the #9 program of the evening with ‘Home and Away’ with 895,000 viewers.
Nine, with 27.2% share had the #2, ‘Nine News’ with 1,151,000 viewers and #3, ‘The Big Bang Theory’ as it was the top comedy in the nation on Wednesday. #6 was ‘Nine News 6:30’ with 1,065,000 viewers and #7, ‘A Current Affair’ with 964,000 viewers.
Ten, with a very strong evening with 21.1% share of the available audience had # 8, ‘Offspring’ with 931,000 and #10, ‘MasterChef Australia’ with 889,000 viewers.
ABC1 with an off night came in with 15.8% share.
SBS finished the evening with 5.1% share of the available audience.
Thursday, 05.15.14 Ratings in Australia
Seven again was #1 with a 30.5% share of the available audience. It was powered by the #1 program and newscast, ‘Seven News’ with 1,152,000 million viewers. It also had the #2 program, ‘Seven News/Today Tonight’ with 1,038,000 viewers. #6 was ‘Home and Away’ with 805,000 viewers.
Nine came in #2 with a 24.2% share of the audience as it had program #3, ‘Nine News’ with 1,007,000 viewers; #4 ‘Nine News 6:30’ with 966,000 viewers and #5, 805,000 viewers.
Ten, with a 20.3% share, finished #3 for the second straight night as it had the #10 program, ‘Ten Eyewitness News’ which drew 675,000 viewers.
ABC1, with an 18.7 share, had #7, ‘ABC New’ which drew 769,000 viewers and the #8 program and the top drama, ‘Call The Midwife’ with 757,000 viewers. Finally, it also had the #9 program, ‘ABC News Update’ with 751,000 viewers.
SBS had a 6.3% share.
