FOX at 8P began with ‘Hell’s Kitchen’, which finished #1 in its very weak time slot with 5.3 million viewers and a 3.8/6. At 9P had ‘American Idol’ and finally, MK was booted off. And you could tell than while Harry was dead set against bring her back, Jennifer was tearing up and making bad as we all said bye-bye to one of the weak links of the final 10. And now there are nine. ‘Idol’ pulled in 8.37 million viewers and a 5.7/9. It was down 31% from a year ago. Those are big number drop-offs. The Animal Network of Broadcast have to figure out, even though these are good numbers, if ‘Idol’ had reached it end game. The pull is of course the money as it still is a big earnings partner but what price diminished glory?

CBS had ‘March Madness’ all day and all night as the first round ended with Dayton and Harvard pulling upsets, ruining many bracket dreams. The Tiffany Network in prime time featured two NCAA Basketball match-ups: Wolford (do you know what State it is in?) vs. Michigan, as the Wolverines trounced the competition and later, Arizona State got beat in an exciting finish by Texas at the buzzer. The results were an underwhelming 3.75 million viewers and a 2.5/4, well below what it usually does Thursday night’s leading line up. NOTE: Results for any live sporting event is approximate.

NBC can’t get out-of-the-way of failure on Thursday, no matter how CBS performs. The Peacock Network still finished fourth by beginning at 8P with ‘Community’ which drew 3.46 million viewers and a 2.3/4. At 830P, ‘Parks and Recreation’ pulled in 3.09 million viewers and a 2.1/3.
