NBC Wins With Football On Sunday. Antiques Roadshow #1 In The UK.

On the last regular season Sunday of the year, NBC with ‘Sunday Night Football’ featuring the Eastern Division title game between the Dallas Cowboys against the victorious Philadelphia Eagles, won the evening for The Peacock Network. At 7P, ‘Football Night In America’ drew 6.49 million while at 730P, as the other games ended (Green Bay’s exciting victory over the Bears and the Cardinal’s loss to the 49ers), more people moved over to NBC with 9.38 million viewers. At 8P, 18.69 million began to gather before the kickoff and when the game began, 23.9 million viewers gathered to the network at 30 Rock. Game. Set. Match.

CBS had an overrun of the Chargers victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, which allowed San Diego to slip into the playoffs and dash the hopes of Pittsburgh and drew 15.71 million fans at 7P. At 8P, ’60 Minutes’ drew 9.24 million, a lower number than usual largely because of the season finale on NBC. At 9P, ‘Kennedy Center Honors’ pulled in 7.09 million for the remainder of the night.

FOX had overruns featuring Aaron Rodgers remarkable comeback on 4th & 8 on the 48 (see: http://www.overtheshouldernfl.wordpress.com) and the winning field goal by San Francisco propelled 17.72 million viewers at 7P to The Animal Network of Broadcast. At 730P, ‘The OT’ drew 14.55 million. At 8P, a ‘The Simpsons’ rerun drew 5.91 million while at 830P, another rerun of ‘The Simpsons’ drew 4.44 million. At 9P, ‘Family Guy’ rerun drew 3.83 million and at 930P, a rerun of ‘Animation Domination’ drew 2.16 million.

ABC took it on the chin on Sunday. With no football, it was a loser. At 7P, ‘America’s Funniest Home Videos’ brought an evening high for The Alphabet Network in 5.78 million viewers. At 8P, another airing of ‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ drew 3.71 million.

For the record, NBC was number one with an average of 19.229 million viewers. CBS was #2 with 9.782 million viewers. FOX came in 3rd with 8.734 million and ABC finished with an average of 4.229 million. Univision came in with 2.062.

Across The Pond:

A special ‘Antiques Roadshow’ was the top program of the day with 6.43 million viewers for a 28.2% share of available audience.

At 8P, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 4’ drew 5.4 million viewers (20.6%).

At 8P, ‘Miss Marple’ drew 4.64 million viewers (19.3%).

‘Catchphrase’ drew 4.16 million viewers (18.2%).
Channel 4 ‘8 Out of 10 Cats Christmas’ drew 2.27 million (9.6%).
The ‘Match of the Day’ drew 3.18 million viewers.
