FOX #1 With World Series Finale On Wednesday. ITV #1 In UK.

Eighteen million viewers watched the World Series Game #6 final as the Boston Red Sox beat the St. Louis Cardinals 6-1 for their first World Championship won in Fenway Park since 1918. It brought FOX another victory. Its average 5.4 rating and 15 share in prime time gave FOX the highest rated Wednesday night on any network since “American Idol” on January 13, 2013 in the adults 18-49 demo, and since Dallas at the New York Giants on NFL Football on NBC on September 5, 2012. In total audience, it drew 12.0 household rating and a whopping 20 share. It was up 107% over a year ago in this same time period (‘The X-Factor’)

CBS, with their powerful Wednesday night lineup, was #2, off just 4% from the week previous. ‘Survivor: Blood vs Water’ at 8P finished with 9.02 million viewers and a 5.8/9 while ‘Criminal Minds’ drew 10.62 million with a 7.3/11 at 9P. ‘CSI’ came through with 9.59 million viewers and a 6.4/11 at 10P.  Over all, The Tiffany Network drew a 6.5/11. The highlight of the evening was ‘Survivor’. If you didn’t get a chance to see it, this is the episode to watch OnDemand. It is hoped that Mark Burnett incorporates loved ones theme in future ‘Survivor’ seasons. Nuff said.

ABC took a hit with an overall 4.5/7. At 8P ‘The Middle’ drew 8.03 million while at 830P,  ‘Back in the Game’ wasn’t with 6.24 million viewers. At 9P, a rerun of ‘Modern Family’ drew 7.42 while ‘Super Fun Night’ at 930P drew 5.42 million. ‘Nashville’ at 10P drew the smallest number on ABC for the evening with only 5.23 million in an original episode.

NBC completely bombed with a 3.1/5 for the night. At 8P, ‘Revolution’ finished with 4.91 million viewers while at 9P, a rerun of a two-hour episode of ‘Law & Order: SVU’ could only pull in 4.2 million viewers. ‘Revolution’ was the only other program that was up for this time period vs a year previous (’30 Rock’/’Guys With Kids’) other than the World Series, as it finished 7.69% ahead in the A-18-49 demo.

The CW finished overall with a 1.7/3. ‘Arrow’ drew 2.34 million viewers at 8P with a  2.0/3 and ‘The Tomorrow People’ at 9P, was watched by 1.73 milion for a 1.3/2.

In late night, NBC’s ‘The Tonight Show’ pulled to #1 with a 2.7/7; CBS’ ‘Late Show’ did a 2.3/6 while ‘Kimmel Live’ disappointed with only a 1.9/5. In the late, late period at 1235A, ‘Fallon’ finished #1 with 1.4/5 while ‘Ferguson’ and ‘Nightline’ tied with 1.2/4. Late, late, late at 135A, was all alone with ‘Carson Daly’ which had a 0.8/4.

For the record, FOX was #1 with 17,996 million viewers and a 10.6 rating/17 share while CBS was #2 with 9.746 million and a 6.3/10. ABC #3 with 6.261 million viewers and a 4.1/6 and NBC #4 with 4.440 million and a 2.9/5. Univision #5 with 1.5/2 while The CW #6 with 2.034 million viewers and a 1.3/2. Telemundo #7 with 0.6/1.

ACROSS THE POND: ITV’s ‘Poirot’ was #1 with 4.37 million viewers (19.7% of the audience) at 8P on Wednesday evening in the UK. BBC One’s ‘Watchdog’ finished just behind with 4.26 million (19.2%) opposite ‘Poirot’. ‘Autumn Supermarket Secrets’ brought in 3.76 million (17%) at 9P. Over on BBC Two, ‘Autumnwatch’ was viewed by 2 million (9%) at 8P while ‘Ambassadors’ finished with 1 million viewers (4.5%) at 9P. On channel 4, ‘River Cottage to the Core’ was viewed by 1.14 million (5.1%) at 8P. ‘Grand Designs’ increased channel 4’s audience to 2.38 million (10.8%) at 9P. ‘Gogglebox’  fell back with 1.28 million (7.5%) at 1015P. Channel 5’s ‘I Lost Weight But I Lost My Husband’ could only muster 990,000 viewers (4.5%) at 9P. ‘Wentworth’ dropped back to 855,000 (5.1%) at 10P. BBC Three ‘Don’t Tell the Bride’ was viewed by 647,000 at 9P (2.9%) while ‘Family Guy’ brought in 609,000 viewers (5.8%) at 11P. ITV2’s ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ was viewed by 630,000 (3.6%) at 10P. On SKY Atlantic, ‘The Tunnel’ was watched by only 206,000 viewers (0.9%) at 9P.
